2007 Parker Elementary Open House
On Thursday, September 20th, Parker Elementary's staff and teachers hosted its annual Open House by greeting parents as they were escorted by their children to various classrooms throughout this popular southwest Houston school.
Kindergarteners were especially proud to share with their parents the classwork they have completed since the start of school, including the creative "Mini-Me" Project where each student drew a life-size version of themselves and dressed it with one of their own shirts! The Parker Parents were thrilled to see their children's enthusiasm for school, their teachers and learning.
In Mrs. Cummins' Kindergarten classroom, her students had to help their parents with a scavenger hunt to locate the "Helper" chart, their "Writing" Portfolios, the "Centers" Board and Class Calendar, and explain how their class uses these. Mrs. Cummins was thrilled to have 100% of the parents attend, saying, "The students did a great job showing their parents our classroom and the parents learned a lot about Kindergarten."
