Parker Elementary Habitat Garden

MEDIA RELEASE
On Saturday, September 8, Parker Elementary's Landscaping Chair Diana Ensenat hosted a Habitat Garden Party at the recently certified Parker Elementary School's Wildlife Habitat Garden.  Volunteers at Parker Elementary have spent years cultivating and nurturing the school's Habitat Garden since its inception.

In order for an area to receive the coveted National Wildlife Federation's certification as a wildlife habitat, it must provide four basic elements in supporting and helping wildlife to thrive - food, water, cover and places to raise their young.  

Upon hearing of the N.W.F. certification, Principal Cappy Selig said, "This is a great honor for Parker Elementary and the school's many volunteers who have put so much effort into the Habitat Garden over the years.  The Wildlife Habitat Garden is a wonderful way to teach our students to be good caretakers of our environment."
